• JULY 9, 2004 - "It's always a good feeling as a starting pitcher to finish what you've started," said Gibson after Friday's game. "And sometimes you just get in the groove and everything is just going right."

• JUNE 27, 2004 - "I was throwing all right," said Rollie Gibson after pitching seven innings in the Panners Tuesday night game against the Peninsula Oilers. His teammate, third baseman Allen Balmer, disagreed though with Gibson's assessment of his own performance. "No you didn't," said Balmer, running out of the dugout after the game. "You pitched great."

• JUNE 25, 2004 vs AIA "My defense worked really good behind me," said Gibson, who picked up his second win of the season; pitching 5 and 1/3 innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on two hits, with four walks and four strikeouts. "I didn't have really good stuff," Gibson added. " But that's when you have to try harder and try to stay more focused. You've just got to compete more."
