Holloway signs with Houston Astros Jarred, during his senior season, consistently threw in the high 80's and low 90's, topping out at 95 miles per hour. During the summer of 2006, he is playing for the prestigious Midland Redskins, one of the nation's top pre-college summer league teams. Drafted in the 49th round by the Washington Nationals in the 2006 Major League Baseball Draft. As a junior, was 2-2 with an ERA of 0.75 with 96 strikeouts in 44 innings. Allowed 20 walks and 17 hits. Prior to his senior season, Jarred consistently threw in the 89 to 91 mile per hour range, topping out at 93 at the University of Texas summer baseball camp that he attended in 2005.An outstanding student in the classroom who is taking Honors classes. Signed with Mississippi State. Chose MSU over Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss and Penn State, among others.
