Replaced Gillespie as USC Head Coach

Chad Kreuter played 16 major league seasons with a number of teams, most notably the Rangers, White Sox, Tigers and Dodgers. Chad owns a career .990 fielding percentage as well as a .237 career batting average. Most recently, Chad had coached within the USC Trojan baseball program. This will be Kreuter's first stint as a manager as he leads the 2006 Modesto Nuts into exciting California League action! Kreuter attended Pepperdine University in Malibu and played for the Waves from 1983-1985. Kreuter was the 109th overall pick in the 1985 draft. Chad's best major league season came in 1993 with Detroit, batting .286 (107-for-374) with 15 home runs and 51 RBI.

  • Cleared the roof at Tiger Stadium with a homer on May 21, 1994.

  • Homered from both sides of the plate on Sept. 7, 1993.

  • Had two hits in one inning in his major leage debut on Sept. 14, 1988.

  • Father-in-law Mike Gillespie is the head baseball coach at USC.

  • 10/5/00: Dodgers sign Kreuter to $2.3 million, two-year deal
