"JIM McANANY is a 5-9, 190-pound sophomore catcher from Loyola University in Los Angeles.  A left-handed hitter, Jim hit .311 for the Lions of former Panner Manager Dave Snow this spring while driving in 32 runs.  Jim stepped in as Loyola's regular as a freshman and hit .304.  He attended Loyola High School and earned all-league honors in baseball and football for two years and was named most valuable player of Loyola's baseball team his senior season"
