JULY 11, 2004 - "The main thing is getting a good look at him in the on-deck," said Mortensen, when asked about the challenge of trying to hit a pitcher he's never been up against before. "I ask for the other guys' input, seeing what (that pitcher) has. But usually I'm the leadoff guy, and I'm doing that for them. That's a big part of it."
JULY 7, 2004 - "Me and coach Cheff, we went into the cage and changed my hands for a better grip," said Mortenson. "There was a timing issue with my front foot, I was doing something kind of loopy. But it's starting to come together."
JUNE 27, 2004 - "The Panners speedy outfield trio of Lissman, centerfielder Johnny Coit and rightfielder Trevor Mortensen cover a lot of ground in the Growden Park outfield, and Mortensen saved Landavaso an eighth inning baserunner when he ran down a fly ball deep in the power alley. "The sun wasn't a problem," said Mortensen, responding to a question about the often notorious Growden rightfield glare. "It was more the shade coming off the grandstand. But I got a good jump on it right when he hit it. I read it from the catcher. I saw Brian (Jeroloman) set up outside."
