Selected in the
32nd Round of the Major League Baseball draft by the Atlanta
Braves… Was also drafted out of high school by the San Francisco Giants…
Named 1st Team All-South Coast Conference last season after
batting .280 on the year… Started 35 games at catcher and was also the
team’s closer… Led the team with six saves and went 1-1 with a 1.98 ERA in
11 appearances… Pitched in 13 2/3 innings and struck out 11 batters… In a
game against El Camino College, he earned the win on the mound and also
drove in the game-winning run in the 11th inning… At the plate,
he had a team-high 11-game hitting streak, while he also went 9 1/3 innings
without giving up an earned run on the mound… Batted .444 (20-for-45) during
his hitting streak, which included seven multiple-hit games and 16 RBI…
Drove in a season-high three RBI in three of four games during the hitting
streak… Team went 11-5 when he hit in the sixth spot in the lineup, as he
hit at a .317 clip… Named 1st Team All-Serra League as a senior
in high school, while earning 2nd Team honors as a junior… Voted
his team’s Most Valuable Player as a senior… Likes to ride motorcycles and
go fishing in his spare time… Nicknamed “Bach”… Has one sibling – Jamie

Sophomore pitcher/catcher
Brad Schwarzenbach (St. John Bosco HS) was taken by the New
York Mets in the 44th Round, and it marks the third year in a row he was
selected in the draft. Freshman pitcher
Robbie Dominguez (El Rancho HS) was chosen in the
45th Round by the Seattle Mariners. Over the last two years, Schwarzenbach was taken by both the
San Francisco Giants after his senior year in high school and was selected by
the Atlanta Braves in the 32nd Round in last year's draft. Has has already
signed a letter of intent to play at Lewis & Clark (ID) State next season and
will decide whether to continue school or sign a minor league contract. On the
year, Schwarzenbach went 2-5 on the mound with four saves and a team-leading
1.84 ERA. He appeared in 15 games and started three while striking out 41
batters in 44 innings of work. At the plate, Schwarzenbach batted .263 with
three doubles and 13 RBI. |
