Elliott Strankman

2003-04-05-06 Goldpanners
Assistant Coach

2008 Head Coach:
Occidental, Green Bay Bullfrogs

PRESSBOX

  • 9/4/7: Strankman to return to Green Bay "From a kid with a dream to a grown man with a job, Strankman is engrossed in the sport he loves. If one job in baseball wasn’t enough, leave it to Strankman to squeeze in another. “I wake up and think about baseball,” he said. “Anyone who knows me knows that I’m the most happy when I’m busy.”

  • Named Northwoods league All-Star Manager

  • 5/30/7: Northwoods League: Bullfrogs are ready to play ball, dude  "The makeup of the Green Bay Bullfrogs’ roster does more to expose manager Elliott Strankman’s West Coast roots than his habitual use of “man” and “dude” as punctuation."

  • 1/28/7: Baseball: Bullfrogs add first players to roster "The Green Bay Bullfrogs announced the signing of the first two players in team history — University of Washington pitcher Tyler Cheney (06) and Loyola Marymount pitcher Kevin Hernandez  (06). Cheney and Hernandez played for Bullfrogs manager Elliott Strankman (06) with the Alaska Goldpanners of the Alaska Baseball League last summer."

  • Named Manager for Green Bay Bullfrogs

  • 6/16/6: 2006: Byrns and Dunn propel Panners - "Assistant coach Elliott Strankman had no strategy when he put together the Alaska Goldpanners’ lineup for Thursday night’s nonconference baseball game against the Stockton Senators of California. But the Goldpanners’ 13-5 romp at Growden Memorial Park showed it was a stroke of genius for him to have Geoff Byrns batting in the No. 3 spot and Joey Dunn hitting right behind him. The two combined for six hits, six runs batted in and five runs scored. “It’s pretty complicated. How much time do you have?,” Strankman, who also played at second baseman and batted fifth, said lightheartedly. “It’s kind of a skeleton crew right now. We had a pitcher playing right field tonight.'’

  • 6/16/5: Panners nipped in nail-biter - "There's no doubt," said Panners player/coach Elliott Strankman, who doubled and scored the only run for the home team in the seventh inning. "We've got to take better care of the baseball. In this league, every run counts. "You've got to get bunts down, you've got to move runners, you've got to play effective small ball," Strankman added. "Those are the kind of things that will be the difference between a win and a loss."
