Stapp Stops 'Liners with 5-Hitter, Watson Ends Rally

"NBC officials.. even turned the never-shy, never-taciturn Boucher loose with a microphone.  Boucher reminisced about.. a lesser-known player, a catcher named Floyd Watson from the Goldpanners first NBC team in 1962.  Watson, a University of Arizona player, caught the last three games of the season in terrible pain from a slipped disk.  He needed surgery right after the tournament.  "Mister Guts," said Boucher."  (Lew Freedman, Diamonds in the Rough, p. 231)
