8/14: Panners Strike Pure Gold - ADN "To be honest with you," Anchorage coach Bob Miller replied when asked what happened, "I'm at a loss for words right now." "From the day we got here, we thought we might be seeing (the Pilots) tonight," Cheff said. "That's a really good club we had to beat twice here. Doing it the way we did it certainly makes it more special."
8/14: Memories of mom flood back for MVP Gill "Gill went 4 for 4 with two runs scored and three RBIs. Next thing he knew, he was holding the MVP trophy. "I never thought this would have happened, especially a few days ago," Gill said. "It's incredible. It's the best feeling I've ever had on a baseball field in my life."
8/14: Panners hit the Mother Lode - Bob Eley "The Panners have played in a record 12 championship games with four of those coming against the Glacier Pilots. The Panners now hold a 3-1 advantage in those games. The Pilots have played in 10 championship games."
8/14: Fairbanks Return Brightens NBC - Bob Lutz "Dennis, probably the most successful figure in NBC history, didn't join his team for a jubilant postgame celebration on the field. Instead, he remained stationed behind a camera above the bleachers behind third base, helping with the Fairbanks Web cast. Fairbanks has now played in 23 World Series, and won 26 percent of them. The Panners also have six second-place finishes, so they have played in the championship game in 52 percent of the tournaments they have entered."

6/22: A Boyhood Dream Comes True for Sean Timmons "the Alaska Goldpanners defeated the Ukiah Victory Dons 2-1 on a game-winning RBI single from Chad Corona in the bottom of the ninth inning. "I'm going to Alaskaland, baby!" joked Corona with his teammates during a jubilant celebration in front of the Panners' bench after Ryan Haag crossed the dish for the winning run.|

6/17: Panners put on display "Shortstop Grant Rogers and right fielder Scott Robinson each went 3-for-5 in the contest to lead the Goldpanner offensive onslaught. Robinson doubled, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs. Third baseman Brandon Averill and designated hitterpitcher Marc Kaiser each had two hits and drove in four runs. Averill connected for a two-run homer to cap the Panners' five-run eighth inning."
6/16: Waves beat Panners "This is a good fielding team and a good hitting team, and once we get everybody here it will be a strong pitching team, too," Timmons said. "I think it is good to get this out of the way now and hopefully this will help us get better for the league season. We still want to win, but you would rather lose now than in league." With new players arriving daily and only a couple of returning players from last season, Timmons said he was comfortable on the field, but still getting to know everybody in the dugout. "It's not really difficult (playing). My job is just to go out there and throw strikes," Timmons said. "Learning the guys' names is the hardest part. My first baseman and shortstop I get confused."

6/15: Panners solve All-Star puzzle - Richard Larson "Chad Redfern came in to pitch the seventh inning. "I haven't pitched in a game since I was about 10 years old," said Redfern, who normally roams the outfield for the Panners. "I had a couple of big league scouts that were interested in me throwing so I was hoping to use this summer to maybe develop my pitching. I was around the zone, I didn't have any balls hit the backstop, so I was pretty happy."
