2005 SEASON AWARDS

Perfect Twice in 3 Weeks!

Kenny Maiques (04) "Kenny Maiques of Rio Hondo college threw two perfect games over a 3-week span -- something that may not have been done by a pitcher in college baseball history"

Cameron Blair (04 MVP)
Co-Big 12 Player of the Week

Jeff Culpepper (03 MVP)
WCC Player of the Week

"Joaquin completed his second season at Lower Columbia College earning all-league honors. He was 3-0 with a 0.50 ERA with a school-record 13 saves in helping the Red Devils capture the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges championship."

No-Hitter

 vs. Gray's Harbor

LCC 10 GHC 0 7IP- 0R- 0H- 0E- 11K. 59 strikes and 22 balls.

Named Western Division (NWAACC) pitcher of the month for April with 33IP- 3R-2ER-10H- 4BB- 45K's.  | "Stefan Sele (Lathrop) is red shirting and has really improved.  He is hitting 88, has a good change-up and the makings of a decent slider."

Thomas Incaviglia
and Clay Van Hook

On which of the newcomers has impressed you the most this season "I would say Clay Van Hook because he may not be tall, big or have a lot of power, but somehow he always finds a way to get on base. Clay and Taylor (Teagarden) are definitely the two most patient hitters on the team. It is fun to watch Clay find new ways to get on base every time he goes up to the plate. He reminds me of (Huston) Street, except that Clay can hit the ball harder. Both of them have that kind of luck where they put the ball in play and the opponent always finds a way to bobble the ball. I mean, whether he is hit by a pitch, walks or puts a ball in the gap, Clay can find so many ways to get on base, which is impressive and very valuable for our team."  (Seth Johnson)

2005 COACHES

Jim Barr (67-68-69) In legendary company "Barr said that he only saw Dedeaux raise his voice one time. It happened in a game against California when future major league all-star Dave Kingman came into the dugout and threw his glove on the bench, knicking Dedeaux's arm. "Dedeaux got up," Barr said, "picked Kingman up by the shirt and said, 'You will never do that again. We don't act like that here.'"
