Goldpanners Recognized By Proclamation of Governor Knowles
SJune and July Declared "ALASKA GOLDPANNERS 40th YEAR ANNIVERSARY SEASON"

Governor Tony Knowles' office today released a proclamation honoring the Alaska Goldpanners of Fairbanks for completion of 40 fine seasons of baseball. The team is honored as "the finest and farthest north amateur baseball club in America." The proclamation declares June and July as Alaska Goldpanners 40th Year Anniversary Season.
The driving force behind this proclamation was Tom Moyer, member of the Alaska Goldpanners of Fairbanks board of directions, and director of the Governor's Fairbanks office.
The Alaska Goldpanners will be celebrating their history all summer long, with a special presentation on Tuesday, July 18th, as the Alaska Goldpanners' "40th Anniversary Day."
