WHAT WAS BANNED AND WHY

99th Midnight Sun Game

June 21, 2004

G-Man interviewing Fergie

I can understand that there are a lot of videos that YouTube probably wouldn't allow, considering their adult nature.   For instance, there have been multiple  PannerVision broadcasts with streakers  -- which might be considered unsuitable material for some audiences  (not to mention the entire 100th Midnight Sun Game broadcast).  However, why this video was banned is a bit of a mystery.

Naturally, I challenged the ruling, but was told it was Major League Baseball that had flagged the video.   See if you can figure out why... I certainly don't know.

Perhaps Fergie is now the property of Major League Baseball, and nobody can use his likeness without their permission... yet, wouldn't them sending him to Fairbanks constitute permission?  I don't know.  If it wasn't more fun to host the video here and complain, I'd write our HOF pal Greg Harris about it (whose video, strangely enough, wasn't banned).
